Age Criteria
Entry-age rules can depend on the academic session and applicable directions. Ask Admissions for the current written age table, the cut-off date used and how age is calculated before choosing a class. The following are common reference points to verify, not a confirmed rule for every session:
- Nursery, LKG and UKG: confirm the minimum age and cut-off date for each early-years class.
- Grade I: confirm the current minimum age, cut-off date and any applicable relaxation or documentation rule.
- Grade II and above: confirm previous-class completion and any placement requirement.
Eligibility
Eligibility, interaction and assessment steps can vary by class and session. Obtain the current process in writing before submitting documents or paying a fee.
- Confirm the class-specific age and previous-study requirements.
- Ask which report cards or academic records must be reviewed.
- Ask whether an interaction, readiness check or assessment applies to the class requested and how it is used.
- Confirm which parent or student meeting is required and who conducts it.
- Ask whether a conduct, character or other previous-school record is needed.
Transfer Cases
For a transfer from another school or board, ask Admissions which documents and approvals apply to the student's current class, board and point in the academic year.
- Whether a Transfer Certificate is required and whether any countersignature or online verification applies.
- Which previous report cards or subject records are required.
- Whether migration, eligibility or equivalence documentation applies to the board and class.
- Whether a mid-session place is available and how subject or assessment differences will be handled.
International Transfers
International records and grade placement may require additional review. Ask which translated, authenticated, migration, eligibility or equivalence documents are accepted and whether a placement assessment applies before arranging certificates.
Required Documents
Document requirements can change by class, transfer status and session. Request the current checklist and ask whether a copy, original for inspection, digitally signed record or later submission is required. Common items to confirm include:
- Birth or age record accepted by Admissions
- Current and previous report card or mark sheet requested for the class
- Transfer, migration or eligibility record where applicable
- Identity and address documents accepted by Admissions; Aadhaar may be supplied voluntarily but admission must not be denied solely for want of Aadhaar
- Current photographs in the requested format
- Medical information or fitness record requested for day or boarding admission
- Category or other supporting record only where relevant to the application
Do not send original identity or medical records through an open web form. Use the submission method confirmed by the school.
Withdrawal and Transfer
Notice periods, clearance requirements, Transfer Certificate processing and any fee-in-lieu terms can change by session and student type. Before accepting a place, request the current written withdrawal policy and keep the copy issued with your admission records.
- Confirm the notice period for day and boarding students.
- Ask which academic, library, ERP, transport or imprest clearances are required.
- Ask how and when the Transfer Certificate request must be submitted.
- Confirm the expected processing time in writing.
Fee Refund Terms
Do not rely on an old website summary when making a payment. Ask the accounts office for the refund and cancellation terms that apply to the student's session, fee schedule and offer letter.
- Which registration, admission, tuition, boarding, transport or other charges are refundable.
- What notice and supporting documents are required.
- How a security deposit or unused imprest balance is calculated and returned.
- Whether any administrative deduction or time limit applies.
- The authorised approval route and expected payment method.
Obtain written confirmation before payment and retain receipts, the offer letter and the applicable policy.
